2022 SSC Season almost here

Access to Grounds

The second padlock on the main gate to the SSC property has been removed as of April 22.  The Committee would like to remind all members and visitors that there are sections of ground, especially in the valley, that are still wet and soft. Please use common sense when visiting the property. Do not drive in areas that are soft and wet!   This leads to the formation of ruts that become problematic for the lawnmower and can cause damage to the cutting deck and the blades, resulting in expensive repairs.

Schedule Updates

  • AGM – May 5th  via Zoom.  Members will be getting a link to register for this meeting.
  • Mother’s Day Luncheon – In light of the 6th wave, Mother’s Day lunch has been cancelled.
  • Winter WC – Remains accessible via the gate key. It will be reverting to the summer lock (no key required) on May 21st.

Power / Water to Cottages

The cool weather and below freezing temperatures at night are delaying the start-up of the water systems, with frost still in the ground in some areas.   At this time the maintenance group are working to having power and water on to the cottages by the end of the day May 21st.

Calling All Lifeguards

SSC is looking for part time lifeguards for the 2022 season.

You must have a current NLS certificate and be at least 16 years old to qualify.   A Swim Instructor Certificate is beneficial, as it gives the applicant an opportunity to organize and conduct swimming lessons.  The SSC pool is operational from the last week of June through to Labour Day Monday.
